Hyde Park Real Estate

Hyde Park is an area in Central Austin. Hyde Park was first laid out by Morton Martin Shipe in the 1890s. He hoped to sell Victorian mansions to Austin’s growing upper-middle class but later adjusted his target market and built smaller homes to accommodate Austin’s working families. Shipe built both large and small homes and now Hyde Park is a neighborhood filled with generously sized, turn-of-the-century homes and cozy bungalows.
