Family-friendly Brentwood Park is just next door to Crestview. It features nine acres of open green space, a walking trail, a swimming pool, tennis and basketball courts, and a children's playground.

Crestview falls in the Austin Independent School District and includes several good schools. It's also home to the Burnet Road Farmers Market and to a number of locally-owned small businesses and restaurants.

The suburb is within easy commuting distance of the University of Texas, making it popular with students and their families. The Pickle Research Campus (PRC) shuttle runs between Crestview and the University campus.
